Project Summary

Thousands of women and children from Aku community in Okigwe LGA, Imo State, Nigeria, have been violently displaced due to conflict and insecurity. They have lost their homes, loved ones, and livelihoods, and now live in fragile conditions in temporary shelters across parts of southeastern and north-central Nigeria.

Empower Future Initiative is responding with a comprehensive humanitarian project that provides immediate relief, trauma healing, education support, and economic empowerment for these displaced families. Your support can restore hope and dignity to those most affected.

Our Mission

To rebuild the lives of 500 displaced women and children from Aku by providing:

  • Emergency food and hygiene support

  • Trauma counseling and healing programs

  • School re-enrollment and educational support

  • Vocational training and small business startup support for women

Why This Project Matters

The Aku crisis has left behind a humanitarian disaster. Many displaced women have become single mothers and breadwinners overnight. Children, traumatized and out of school, are at risk of exploitation and lifelong poverty.

Without urgent action, an entire generation faces instability, hunger, and loss of opportunity.

You can be the difference.
By supporting this project, you will help families recover and thrive with tools to rebuild their lives in dignity.
