Our Community Health & Well-being program is dedicated to improving health outcomes, enhancing access to essential health services, and promoting wellness practices among underserved populations in Nigeria, especially in rural and peri-urban communities.
Nigeria faces growing health challenges, from maternal mortality to poor sanitation and lack of health awareness. Millions, especially in rural areas, still lack access to clean water, health information, and basic medical care. EFI is working to close this gap by empowering communities with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to live healthier lives.
We organize regular outreach programs that sensitize communities on:
Preventive healthcare
Sexual and reproductive health
Nutrition and hygiene
HIV/AIDS, malaria, and communicable diseases
Our peer educators, health volunteers, and mobile health teams provide localized, culturally relevant information to empower individuals to make informed health decisions.
We work with local clinics, midwives, and health workers to:
Promote safe motherhood practices
Encourage antenatal and postnatal care
Improve immunization coverage
Reduce infant and maternal mortality rates
EFI also provides hygiene kits and support materials to expectant mothers in hard-to-reach areas.
Access to safe water and hygienic environments is critical for well-being. We implement:
Borehole and water purification projects
Sanitation infrastructure in schools and communities
Community WASH education programs to promote handwashing and safe waste disposal
Mental well-being is often neglected in underserved areas. EFI integrates mental health into our health advocacy by:
Training youth and volunteers as mental health first responders
Hosting community dialogues on stress, trauma, and resilience
Providing psycho-social support and referrals
We believe in empowering young people as agents of health change. Through our training and mentorship programs, we support youth to:
Design and lead community health projects
Serve as peer health educators
Advocate for inclusive and youth-friendly healthcare policies
You can support our Community Health & Well-being work by:
Volunteering as a health advocate
Sponsoring hygiene or WASH projects
Donating to fund maternal and child health kits
Together, we can build a healthier, more resilient future for all Nigerians.
